Picks of the Day

Total: 196.73 Units

Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 over St. Louis Cardinals
Bet 2 Units to win 3.10 Units

On top of the fact that Milwaukee has been hitting the ball like crazy, I love the Capuano over Reyes matchup, too. I just hope I'm not jumping on board this hot streak a game too late; fear of that, actually, is the only reason this isn't a 3 Unit play.

New York Mets -1.5 over Florida Marlins
Bet 1 Unit to win 1.15 Units

Contrary to my usual system of going solely on pitching matchups, I just think that the Mets are due for an offensive explosion; and Anibel Sanchez happens to be the guy in the wrong place at the wrong time

Detroit Tigers -1.5 over Baltimore Orioles
Bet 1.50 Units to win 1.80 Units

The defending AL champs have been swinging some hot bats lately, and Robertson always gives his team a chance to win; something they should do against Trachsel and the Orioles.

New York Yankees -1.5 over Texas Rangers
Bet 1 Unit to win 1.10 Units

Andy Pettitte is the only solid pitcher left for the Yankees, and when he's on the mound, you've gotta trust the lineup to get a few runs and try to salvage a win.

Houston Astros over Cincinnati Reds MONEYLINE
Bet 4 Units to win 3.57 Units

For some reason, online sports books think Wandy Rodriguez is pitching. In fact, Roy Oswalt is pitching. Roy Oswalt happens to be 17 - 1 lifetime against the Reds, and a tad bit better of a pitcher than Wandy. This line should be much worse than -112... and I'm jumping all over it where it is. Bet it "action" so you still get that price when Wandy doesn't jog out there in the first.

Cincinnati Reds over Houston Astros MONEYLINE*
Bet 2.90 Units to win 4.60 Units

This is called "hedging a bet". I bet the Reds under the new line of +160 so that I covered the other bet and make a profit either way. If the Astros win, I win 0.67 Units; if the Reds win, I win 0.60 Units. Thats the kind of betting I could get used to.

*Added after line was fixed (10:13 AM)

Good luck!
